W4C Montenegro on the panel “Hybrid warfare and new challenges for the effective protection of human rights”

The representative of Women4Cyber Montenegro, Anđela Simonović, participated in a panel discussion on the topic “Hybrid warfare and new challenges for the effective protection of human rights”, organized by the Red Cross of Montenegro with the support of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The panel aimed to facilitate a discussion on the importance of international humanitarian law in the context of hybrid warfare. The panel also covered topics such as the protection of human rights and the modalities of adapting to modern ways of warfare.

The participants of the second panel, in addition to our representative, were Nikola Ražnatović from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Nikola Martinović from the Ministry of Defense, Nikola Rovčanin from the Police Administration and Rejhan Hot from the Institute for Public Health.

Simonović’s presentation focused on the topic of security in cyberspace, with an emphasis on the gender dimension. She referred to the results of the European Commission’s research, which states that only 11% of women are employed in the security sector.

“It is important to connect experts from the security world around the world in order to help women to express themselves and raise the level of awareness of the importance of inclusive teams in order to increase their efficiency and effectiveness,” said Simonović.
