Regional Training on Governance, Risk, and Compliance Begins at the University of Montenegro

From Knowledge to Protection: Women in Montenegro Build Careers in Cybersecurity

A training program on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) kicked off yesterday at the University of Montenegro, bringing together over 20 participants who will gain essential knowledge and skills necessary to build careers in cybersecurity.

This initiative is being carried out in partnership with Women4Cyber chapters across the region and is taking place simultaneously in five Western Balkan countries – Montenegro, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, and Kosovo.

The program is part of the Western Balkans Cyber Threats and Resilience project, implemented by TAG International in collaboration with Women4Cyber chapters in the Western Balkans, with the support of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO).

Over the course of five modules, participants will learn about cybersecurity policies, risk management strategies, coordinated incident response, and regulatory compliance. The program, conducted concurrently in five Western Balkan countries, combines theoretical knowledge with practical skills, enabling participants to effectively identify and respond to cyber incidents.

The goal is to empower women in one of today’s fastest-growing sectors, creating new opportunities for employment and further professional engagement.

Women4Cyber Montenegro continues its strategic initiatives focused on building cybersecurity capacities through specialized educational programs, mentorship, and professional support for women aspiring to establish themselves in this sector. Through synergy with relevant national and international stakeholders, the organization will keep contributing to the advancement of digital security and the implementation of EU standards to strengthen national cybersecurity capacities.
