The Critical Role of Cybersecurity in a World of Rapid Technological Change

Representatives of Women4Cyber Montenegro, Vice President Neli Rašović, and young cyber ambassadors Ksenija Baković Šoljaga and Darinka Bulatović, are participating in the annual Women4Cyber conference titled “BEYOND BORDERS: Joint Responses to New Cyber Challenges,” held on October 3-4, 2024, in The Hague. This event has brought together leading experts in the field of cybersecurity, including representatives from Google, Europol, the European Cybersecurity Organization, and many other organizations and companies.

The conference is focused on key challenges brought by advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) and quantum computing. One of the main messages of the conference is that sophisticated cyber-attacks are rapidly evolving and rarely repeat in the same form. Experts emphasized the need for more intensive cooperation between the public and private sectors to respond to increasingly complex threats. It was also highlighted that AI can be used not only for attacks but also for analyzing and strengthening cyber defense.

“The world of cybersecurity is facing countless new challenges, from artificial intelligence to quantum computing. The task of our society, both in Montenegro and globally, is to equip new generations of cyber experts not only to respond to current threats but also to proactively develop solutions that will protect our digital future,” said Rašović.

The event also served as an opportunity for the Montenegrin branch of Women4Cyber to present its Young Cyber Ambassadors program, which aims to empower young women to engage in cybersecurity and contribute to strengthening capacities in this vital field.

The participation of Women4Cyber Montenegro representatives in this prestigious event was supported by Five Group, a leading company providing advanced technological solutions in various sectors, including corporate, academic, and security.

The Women4Cyber conference once again reaffirms the importance of working together on a global level to face increasingly complex challenges in the cyber world and ensure the security of the digital space for future generations.
