Women4Cyber Montenegro, in collaboration with the Municipality of Bar, successfully held an online workshop titled “Fact-checking (Dis)information and Digital Literacy.” The workshop, attended by 15 primary school students from Bar, aimed to educate young people on recognizing disinformation, the importance of critical thinking, and responsible digital behavior.
During the workshop, participants learned through interactive activities and practical examples how to spot false information, verify the relevance of sources, and understand the impact of disinformation in today’s digital environment. Special emphasis was placed on the significance of digital literacy as one of the key competencies in modern society.
The workshop was led by Jovana Vuković, an expert in media literacy and PR and social media coordinator at Women4Cyber Montenegro. Through a structured and dynamic approach, Vuković shared essential techniques for identifying disinformation and fostering a proactive attitude toward the information they receive and share.
This workshop is part of Women4Cyber Montenegro’s efforts to raise awareness about the importance of digital literacy and the fight against disinformation, with a special focus on younger generations. Education of this kind plays a crucial role in strengthening resilience to manipulation and contributes to the creation of an informed society that understands the challenges and opportunities of the digital age.
The workshop was conducted as one of the activities outlined in the Municipality of Bar’s Local Action Plan for Youth for 2024.
